ST68 Reaming Drill Bits

Reaming bit, also known as pilot reamer bit, is a hole opener that drills a pilot hole to a certain depth and then reams the hole to a larger diameter. It is mainly used for center hole reaming in long hole drilling. Threaded reaming bits are divided into integral reaming bit (dome type, pilot type) and split-type reaming bit. Reaming bits were widely used in quarrying or mining for blast hole drilling, with pilot adaptors, the drilling direction can be ensured and accurate. Pilot holes are drilled depth and then reamed out to a larger diameter in a second pass required when hole diameter exceeds the capabilities of the rock drill and drilling tools available.

Face Design	Application
	Flat face button drill bits are suitable for all rock conditions, especially for the rock with higher hardness and higher abrasiveness. Such as granite and basalt
	Convex Face button bits are designed for fast penetration rates in softer rock.
	Drop center button drill bits are mainly suitable for the rock with low hardness, low abrasiveness, and good integrity. The bits can drill straighter holes.
	Normal Skirt For drilling in very hard and abrasive rock formations.
	Retract Skirt For drilling in loose,broken or fissured rock where it is difficult to retract the drill string due to the hole collapse.

Button Shape
	R：Round Utility carbide shape. Stong configuration against carbide fracture.
	B:Ballistic Higher penetrating carbide shape than Semi ballistic shape. Recommended for soft rock.
	BB：Semi Ballistic Combined wear resistance and high penetration rate. Recommended for medium-hard rock with moderate abrasitivity.
	SA:Spike Highest penetrating carbide shape. Weak configuration against carbide fracture. Recommended for soft to medium-hard work.
